One person has been killed and more than 60 injured in strikes on Kuwait's international airport. Kuwait's defence ministry spokesman blamed Iran, saying drones had attacked the airport, and called it "criminal Iranian aggression". Iran's Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) denied responsibility for the attacks, claiming the damage was caused by an error from a US missile interceptor.

US Central Command said this was false and also accused Iran in targeting the airport in what it called a "deliberate, calculated and unjustified attack". The IRGC said it had targeted US bases in the Gulf in retaliation for US strikes on an Iranian oil tanker and Qeshm Island.

The US said it had launched "self-defence" strikes on Iran, and shot down or intercepted Iranian missiles fired at Kuwait and Bahrain. Clive Myrie presents
