(X) Mumbai Mayor Ritu Tawde’s official email account received a bomb threat, following which the Mumbai Police has started an investigation. The threat email claimed that the Mayor’s office, Mumbai Metro, schools and the stock market would be targeted in bomb blasts. It also claimed that explosions would take place in Mumbai before August 15. The email reportedly contained pro-Khalistan slogans along with names of some individuals.
It also warned people against sending children to schools and travelling by Metro. This is not the first time that the Mumbai Mayor has received such threats. Earlier too, Tawde had received two threatening emails. After receiving the latest threat, police officials launched an investigation. The cyber police may examine the email’s IP address, source and sender details to trace the origin of the message.
