The girl had gone missing after leaving home on Friendship Day, telling her family she was meeting a friend at a mall. When she failed to return and her phone remained switched off, her father approached the police and lodged a missing person’s complaint. Despite initial efforts, investigators were unable to trace either the teenager or the suspect. During the probe, police found that the two had been in contact through Instagram for nearly three years and had also communicated via other social media platforms. Police tracked the delivery to the hotel room, where they arrested the accused and rescued the girl. How Accused Was Controlling The Survivor? The investigation has since revealed that the accused allegedly used threats to keep the survivor under his control.
Police said he exerted mental pressure by threatening to make her private videos public, lured her to the location and sexually assaulted her. Investigators believe the entire episode took place under coercion. Police also alleged that the accused exercised control over the girl’s mobile phone and monitored her activities. Investigators suspect he used parental control features to track her movements. The survivor’s phone has been seized as part of the investigation, while digital evidence is being examined. Officials said the accused has remained uncooperative during questioning. Accused Uncooperative, Demanded Pizza, Bedding: Police He initially identified himself as “Akash Mehra", but investigators later established his identity as Nirmay alias Akash Madhav Pakhare. Police said he has refused to disclose the password to his mobile phone, prompting them to seek assistance from forensic and cyber experts to retrieve data from the device. Investigators have also seized handcuffs, weapons and other suspicious articles from the accused, all of which have been sent for forensic examination.
