Tamil Nadu government signs ₹18,600-crore investment pact with LT

Key points

• A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Tamil Nadu government and Larsen & Toubro Limited, in the presence of Chief Minister C.
• Joseph Vijay, at the Secretariat in Chennai on Thursday (June 4, 2026), for implementing three projects involving an investment of ₹18,600 crore and generating employment for 8,200 persons.
• The projects covered under the MoU include a Hyperscale and Edge AI data centre in Kancheepuram district with an investment of ₹15,000 crore, which is expected to generate employment for 500 persons;
• an electronics manufacturing hub in Coimbatore with an investment of ₹2,500 crore, which is expected to create employment for 2,000 persons;
• and offshore wind infrastructure at Kattupalli in Tiruvallur district with an investment of ₹1,100 crore, which is expected to provide employment to 5,700 persons.
