TRS president K Kavitha on Thursday said her party would march to Delhi if the BJP and Congress did not pass a bill providing 50 per cent reservation for BCs in legislative bodies by the next Budget session of Parliament. Addressing a meeting on social justice in Telangana, she said BCs should get 50 per cent reservation as they make up 50 per cent of the country’s population. Kavitha asked members of her Telangana Rakshana Sena to spend the next five months reaching every village, mandal and district and holding similar meetings before the party launches a ‘Chalo Delhi’ programme with thousands of cars.
Speaking at the ‘Samajika Nyaya Telangana Sankalpa Sabha’ in Hyderabad, Kavitha referred to the recent youth-led agitation in Delhi over the NEET paper leak issue and asked whether it would be difficult for TRS supporters to “jam Delhi” if they made up their mind. “We are warning the Congress and BJP from here. You pass BC bill before the coming budget session (of parliament). Otherwise, the Telangana TRS army will start for Delhi. We will go to Delhi and carry out the battle there,” she said. She added, “Small kids organised agitations recently. Is it difficult if you all make a resolve?
We can jam Delhi. Should we do it? Before that, go to every village. Prepare our soldiers. Get ready to go to Delhi in thousands.” The meeting passed several resolutions, including support for a nationwide agitation for a 50 per cent quota in legislative bodies for BCs, Bharat Ratna for social reformers Mahatma Jyotiba Phule and Savitribai Phule, and the installation of a statue of late Telangana ideologue Professor Jayashankar at Tank Bund in Hyderabad. Other resolutions called for zero diversion of constitutional SC funds, special recruitment notifications to fill all SC backlog posts in the Central and state governments, complete forest rights for Adivasis, and immediate passage of 33 per cent reservation for women in Parliament without linking it to delimitation.
Kavitha, daughter of BRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao, launched the TRS on April 25, 2026. Her speech and the resolutions adopted at the meeting centred on social justice demands, with the party warning of a march to Delhi if the proposed BC quota bill is not passed by the next Budget session of Parliament.
