File image/ANI Setting the record straight amid speculation surrounding the Ram Mandir donation management system, government sources have clarified that claims of large-scale financial irregularities or systemic corruption within the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust are mathematically unfounded.
According to high-level officials, the entire Rs 3,300 crore collected through voluntary public contributions has been thoroughly audited and accounted for by independent third-party external auditors, M/s V Sankar Aiyer & Co. The trust’s major outlays—including Rs 1,800 crore for temple construction and Rs 400 crore for land acquisition—have followed strict financial and banking protocols with zero cash transactions. Key highlights shared by official sources clarify the following SIT Action & Immediate Arrests: The reported issue pertains strictly to an isolated theft during the manual sorting of cash before machine processing. Six external employees hired by Sainik Security Services (SSS)—an agency contracted by the State Bank of India (SBI)—were identified via CCTV footage and arrested immediately. None of the accused had any affiliation with the temple administration.
Supreme Court Oversight: The ongoing probe by the reconstituted Special Investigation Team (SIT) is being actively monitored by the Supreme Court of India. The investigation is being led by senior IPS officers to ensure absolute independence and transparency. Zero Cash for Land Acquisition: Rebutting allegations regarding land purchases, sources emphasised that 100% of payments for contiguous temple land were executed via direct bank-to-bank transfers from authorised accounts. Higher acquisition costs reflected prevailing post-verdict market rates and the settlement of commercial structures. Donations Unaffected: Devotee trust remains unshakeable. Official data shows no dip in donations following the June 2026 incident, with average monthly Hundi collections holding steady at approximately Rs 5 crore for the first quarter of FY 2026-27.
