RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat has said that while India must stand by the government’s decisions during times of conflict, relations with Pakistan should not be permanently severed, asserting that “permanent hatred is not the solution". Speaking on India-Pakistan ties, Bhagwat said conflicts may require countries to pause engagement, but they should not erase historical and human connections.

“In the times of conflict, we have to go with what the government deems. But that shouldn’t sever the ties already there. Pakistan was Bharat less than 100 years ago, this shouldn’t be forgotten. Ties can be put on hold, not severed," he said. Emphasising that strained relations should not become permanent, the RSS chief added, “Conflicts may halt all these relationships, but they should not sever." Bhagwat said politics, borders and security concerns cannot be ignored, but they should not become the basis for lasting hatred. “Permanent hatred is not the solution. When there is trouble, there’s a way to look at it. It’s not that Pakistan is wholeheartedly an enemy of India, but politics and international borders are also a factor.
