A notorious inter-state burglar, wanted in more than 80 theft cases, was arrested by the Tirupati police on Thursday. Karaka Raja Babu (47), a native of Anakapalli district, was arrested by the police after a series of thefts were reported under the Venkatagiri and Dakkili police station limits. A regular offender, Raja Babu was arrested a number of times in the past and had even served multiple jail sentences.

Booty worth 64 grams of gold and 3.4 kg of silver ornaments worth ₹14.87 lakh, related to six burglary cases in Venkatagiri, Dakkili and two more cases in Bapatla limits, were recovered from his possession.
