India SME Forum (ISF) Director General Sushma Morthania on Thursday announced the launch of ‘Top 50 SMEs of Andhra Pradesh’ initiative to present awards to Small & Medium Enterprises (SMEs) which excelled in innovation, exports, employment, sustainability and fostering economic growth. Nominations for these awards have to be filed on the website before August 23 and the award presentation is likely to take place in the first week of September, she told the media. Sushma said the ISF resolved to present the State awards, taking a cue from the India SME 100 Awards, India’s premier national recognition platform for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), organised for over a decade in partnership with Axis Bank.
Andhra Pradesh is the second State in this seven-State initiative, the other States being Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka and Telangana. A.P. has been chosen as the second State in recognition of its rapidly evolving industrial landscape, strong presence across manufacturing and services, growing export potential and a progressive policy ecosystem supporting MSMEs. Sushma said unlike conventional awards, the Top 50 SMEs of A.P. was conceived as a comprehensive Recognition & Growth Platform, enabling enterprises to strengthen competitiveness and accelerate growth.
A key feature was that all selected enterprises would receive automatic nomination for the India SME 100 Awards subject to eligibility and evaluation criteria. This ecosystem includes opportunities to engage with investors, venture capital funds, private equity firms and family offices, public and private sector banks, NBFCs and fintech institutions, leading technology companies, AI and digital transformation partners, national and international corporations seeking business and supply chain partners, export promotion organisations, trade bodies and global market access partners, international collaborators, multilateral institutions and development organisations.
ISF Directors Sheela Srinivas (AP State projects) and Bhavya Sharma (training and incubation) were among those present.
