The Kerala State Road Transportation Corporation (KSRTC) is being led into a new era by capitalising on AI technology, Transport Minister C.P. John has said. The Minister was speaking after inaugurating KSRTC’s AI-based WhatsApp ticketing system, 24-hour toll-free customer care and upgraded courier system in Thiruvananthapuram on Thursday. The Priyadarshini free-ride scheme introduced for women is becoming more popular and passengers can easily book tickets through the new AI-based WhatsApp ticketing system.
The public can also get information quickly by calling the 24-hour toll-free number 149, said the Minister. The Minister also announced that a scheme will be implemented to select the best drivers and conductors every month and display them at the depots to encourage the employees. As part of this, the employees who performed well will be honored, said the Minister.
Transport Development Committees are being formed under the leadership of MLAs for the development of KSRTC and increasing public participation. Health Minister K. Muraleedharan set an example by forming such a committee, the Minister said. The State-level awards to employees and KSRTC units for their excellent performance were also distributed at the event. The Minister also inaugurated KSRTC’s 24-hour toll-free customer care service 149 and the upgraded courier system.
WhatsApp ticket booking service will be available through the phone number 9447071021. Muraleedharan presided over the function, while KSRTC CMD Pramoj Shankar welcomed the gathering.
