The Government of Karnataka on Thursday announced the launch of a Composite Digital Crop Survey (CDCS), which will be implemented on a pilot basis in five selected hoblis to represent all geographical divisions of the State. Karnataka has been implementing the Digital Crop Survey (DCS) since 2018 using a GIS-based mobile app to collect authenticated plot-level crop data.
To further enhance accuracy, reliability, and scientific validation of this survey data, the CDCS model has now been developed by integrating cutting-edge technologies into the existing crop survey framework, said a release from the
government. High-resolution satellite imagery, SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar), drone surveys, GIS data, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Machine Learning (ML) would be integrated into the process, it said. Speaking at a key stakeholder workshop, Pankaj
