Vinesh Phogat has scored another point in her tussle against the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) as the Supreme Court on Thursday, June 4, dismissed a petition from the governing body aimed at the star wrestler, calling it infructuous.
The SC stated that WFI's challenge to the Delhi High Court's order permitting Vinesh Phogat to participate in the selection trials has become infructuous due to subsequent developments.
Vinesh competed in the 53 kg category and went all the way to the semi-final before losing to Meenakshi Goyat.
Following this, the Olympian vowed to make a stronger comeback and keep on fighting.
The counsel for the WFI argued to the supreme court that while Vinesh was allowed to participate in the national trials, she created havoc at the event.
