Nigeria’s government says more than 300 people who were abducted from different locations in the north-central region have been rescued. The victims were reportedly found inside Kainji Park, which stretches across Kwara and Niger states.
More than half are believed to have been taken during an attack on Woro village in February, while others were abducted from different areas of Niger state.
The rescue comes amid ongoing security challenges and rising concerns over kidnappings in parts of the country. Al Jazeera’s Ahmed Idris reports live from Abuja.
