Speaking to the media after the judgment, Tejpal said he was "very much disappointed" with the verdict, claiming the evidence had not been properly appreciated.
He asserted that the evidence would "exonerate me ten times over," announced that he would appeal the verdict in the Supreme Court, and described himself as "a political victim," alleging the case was "politically motivated." The High Court has granted Tejpal time to surrender, while the legal battle is expected to continue before the Supreme Court.
