The ongoing student protest over alleged civil services recruitment examination irregularities in the state has reached its thirteenth day, prompting the government to initiate dialogue. A delegation comprising multiple ministers has been constituted to engage with the protesting students and seek an amicable resolution. Discussions are currently underway within the administration regarding demands to cancel the examination results altogether.
While local authorities have previously arrested nineteen individuals in connection with the examination irregularities, demonstrating students maintain a trust deficit with state investigative agencies. The protesters have demanded an independent central probe, complete cancellation of the examination results, and transparent, open-domain discussions with government representatives. As part of their intensified agitation, several students continue an indefinite hunger strike, while others prepare to march towards the state assembly on the opening day of the monsoon session to press for immediate government action and future career security.
