Netflix leadership met the Prime Minister of India on August 5 to discuss the growing global influence of Indian storytelling and long-term commitment to the creative economy. The meeting coincided with the launch of the Netflix India Storytelling Initiative, a multi-phase investment aimed at strengthening the creative talent pipeline.
The initiative plans to create strategic partnerships with domestic institutions to equip storytellers with skills in animation, visual effects, gaming, and comics ecosystems, described as key drivers of the orange economy. This effort supports the ambition of Viksit Bharat @ 2047 through education, industry partnerships, and creator capability development.
