Weeks after claiming victory in its campaign over examination paper leaks, the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) is preparing to unveil what it describes as a major roadmap for the future of its movement, signalling an expansion beyond Delhi into a nationwide student advocacy platform. In a video message posted on social media, CJP chief spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka said the organisation would make a “big announcement" on Thursday after a two-day strategy meeting in Maharashtra’s Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.
He said the leadership had spent the past two days reviewing thousands of suggestions from supporters before finalising the movement’s next phase. “After months of struggle, sacrifice and the trust of millions of young Indians, we are now ready to take the next big step. The coming phase is not just about continuing a movement, but about creating a long-term national platform for students and youth," Ranka said. The announcement comes after CJP’s core committee held marathon deliberations at the residence of founder Abhijeet Dipke, where leaders discussed expanding the organisation across India, building networks of student groups and supporting education-related agitations in different states. “This is just the beginning. What we announce tomorrow will be an important milestone in taking this movement to every corner of the country," he added. According to CJP leaders, the organisation intends to evolve into a national pressure group focused on education reforms rather than transform itself into a political party.
Dipke had earlier said there is no proposal to enter electoral politics, arguing that the movement’s role is to build public pressure for systemic change in education, transparency and accountability. Earlier, speaking to reporters after a core committee meeting, CJP chief spokesperson Saurav Das said the organisation was finalising its future strategy and would share its plans after internal deliberations. “We were asked questions about where this movement will go after the success of the protest, and we have all come to strategise around the same. We will hold discussions over it and think about how to take it to grassroot level… When we come up with something concrete on August 6th, we will inform everyone on our future strategy," he had said. Das, while explaining the group’s approach, said the focus would remain on building public awareness rather than creating another political alternative. “This is a movement.
