A political controversy has erupted in Uttar Pradesh after permission was revoked for a student interaction event titled Chatron Ki Goonj in Prayagraj. The Kayastha Pathshala Trust cancelled the venue approval, prompting charges from the Congress party that the government is attempting to suppress student voices out of fear.
Congress leaders stated that similar event permissions were previously cancelled in Kota and Dehradun before being reinstated following student demand. The trust cited the political nature and large expected turnout of students as key factors behind the decision. Despite administrative denial of permission, party members emphasized that the gathering was designed as a direct dialogue with students rather than a formal political rally.
