A major controversy has erupted in Jharkhand over alleged irregularities in the 14th JPSC recruitment examination. The state government representatives visited the protest site ahead of the monsoon session of the Jharkhand Assembly and held talks with the protesting candidates. Chief Minister Hemant Soren invited a five-member delegation of protesters for discussions, while student leader Devendra Nath Mahto affirmed that his indefinite hunger strike will continue until all demands are addressed.
The Chief Minister briefed the Governor on the situation, who described the alleged recruitment discrepancies as a serious matter, as Soren assured the candidates that justice would be served. Protesters highlighted issues such as an unsigned merit list, viral OMR sheets, and candidates qualifying despite answering minimal questions. The candidates are demanding a CBI and ED investigation into recurring recruitment scams, the cancellation of tainted examinations, a transparent recruitment calendar, strict measures against paper leaks, and systemic reforms across JPSC and JSSC examinations.
