The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), which emerged as a prominent voice during the nationwide protests against alleged examination paper leaks, is set to make a major announcement on Thursday regarding its future course of action and expansion plans. In a video message shared on Instagram, CJP spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka said the organisation's leadership had spent the past two days in Maharashtra's Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar preparing a roadmap for the movement's next phase. Read Full Story “We have begun a massive fight for systemic change in this country,” Ranka said, adding that the movement had generated significant expectations among people across India. According to Ranka, the leadership reviewed thousands of suggestions and messages received from supporters through social media platforms, including Instagram and WhatsApp, before finalising its strategy.
He said a major announcement outlining the movement's future direction would be made on Thursday. The announcement comes a day after CJP leaders held a nearly seven-hour strategy meeting at the residence of the organisation's founder, Abhijeet Dipke, in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. During the meeting, the leadership resolved to strengthen the group's presence across the country, build a nationwide network of student organisations and support ongoing education-related agitations in different states. The organisation also unveiled plans to expand as a national student pressure group while keeping education reforms at the centre of its agenda. CJP leaders decided that the movement would continue functioning as a social and advocacy platform rather than entering electoral politics.
“Today we have gathered here to discuss the roadmap. How and where all can we contribute in other parts of the country, we will discuss,” Dipke said after the meeting. “We are not thinking about starting a political party. People of India don't trust the judiciary, politicians and the entire system. We will work as a pressure group,” he added. Leaders present at the meeting said the organisation would remain focused exclusively on education-related issues, including examination reforms, transparency, accountability, student welfare and strengthening the education system. The leadership also agreed to build the movement around the principles of Mahatma Gandhi and Dr BR Ambedkar, committing itself to non-violent and democratic methods while remaining independent of conventional political parties.
