The Bangladesh Foreign Ministry issued a statement expressing deep regret over former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's public press conference held in New Delhi. Dhaka stated that despite conveying concerns to the Indian government regarding potential ramifications on bilateral relations, the event was permitted on the second anniversary of the July revolution.
Calling the interaction on Indian soil an affront to Bangladesh's sovereignty and an insult to the martyrs of the July revolution, Dhaka reiterated its displeasure. Meanwhile, reports indicate Sheikh Hasina announced plans to return to Bangladesh in December amidst ongoing requests from Dhaka for her extradition.
