An app to help eateries sell surplus food

• Two young Kozhikode entrepreneurs are set to launch an app that will enable eateries to sell surplus food at discounts of 60% to 80% during closing hours.
• Kyka, meaning ‘let’s eat’, was founded by Muhammed Nihal V.

• The app is built on a ‘triple impact model’ that offers affordable food to customers, generates additional revenue for partner eateries and helps reduce food waste, said Mr. Nihal.
• ​On the app, eateries will be listed with a brief description, allowing customers to order small, medium or large ‘Magic Bags’.
