Parliament faced a continued logjam as opposition parties demanded a statement from Home Minister Amit Shah regarding the crackdown on student protests against paper leaks on July 20. Congress MP Manickam Tagore submitted an adjournment motion seeking a response from the Home Minister, while opposition leaders marched outside Parliament.
Meanwhile, Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi addressed the media alongside student protesters, criticizing the collapsing education system and condemning alleged assault and forced apologies. The BJP countered by accusing the Congress of selective outrage and shedding crocodile tears, alleging that similar student protests and atrocities in Jharkhand were being ignored.
