In an exclusive interaction, climate activist and education reformer Sonam Wangchuk reflected on his health, ongoing student protests across India, and his recent involvement with youth movements. Speaking after ending his fast, Wangchuk shared that he is recovering well in his village. Addressing student demonstrations over exam irregularities in Jharkhand, he stressed the importance of public participation in democracy, noting, "A silent population is the worst thing that a governance system could get." Wangchuk clarified that he does not seek to become a mascot but will support just causes related to education and the environment.
He also backed the decision of the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) to remain an apolitical pressure group rather than entering party politics, arguing that non-partisan platforms are crucial to give voice to the voiceless. Responding to allegations and conspiracy theories surrounding his activism, Wangchuk maintained a calm stance, asserting that public criticism from all sides is a sign of being balanced and effective in public life.
