In an exclusive interview, climate activist and education reformer Sonam Wangchuk expressed deep disappointment with leaders across the political spectrum. Addressing controversy surrounding a midnight photograph with Union Ministers JP Nadda and Gitesh Singh during his fast, Wangchuk explained that the ministers breached a mutual agreement by releasing photographs before opposition party leaders could join.
He stated, "I've lost trust of all these leaders." Wangchuk also dismissed allegations of making deals with the government to protect his Ladakh-based NGO after its FCRA license was cancelled, asserting that he would not have undertaken a 26-day hunger strike if he intended to compromise. Additionally, he defended his wife Gitanjali against online trolling following her critique of political figures, reaffirming his commitment to his movement with no regrets.
