Under the Kerala Police Manual, a guard of honour is provided whenever the chief minister visits a district.
The ceremony typically involves a contingent of five to seven police personnel, led by a guard commander, lining up at a government guest house or venue to formally receive the chief minister upon arrival, Times of India reported.
