PRESIDENT DROUPADI MURMU’S JOURNEY The train journey was prioritised over flying due to an India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast predicting heavy rainfall across the region. The VVIP entourage travelled in an ultra-luxury private saloon car equipped with air-conditioned bedrooms, a living-cum-dining room, and a full kitchen. It completed the 170-km route in just over two hours. To protect the head of state, the train was escorted by two additional special trains—one running ahead as a pilot and another trailing behind.
