Students in Ranchi are protesting over alleged corruption, paper leaks, and repeated cancellations of JSSC and JPSC recruitment exams. Protesters from various districts, including Bokaro and Palamu, reject a CID probe and demand a CBI investigation, alleging irregularities in exams like CGL and Forest Range Officer. Leader of Opposition Babulal Marandi visited the protest site as government officials opened channels for talks, asking students to form a five-member delegation to present their demands.
Protesters highlighted how years of preparation have been derailed by cancelled vacancies for stenographers, CGL, and other posts, leaving young aspirants facing an uncertain future alongside older family members preparing for the same exams. Anchor Preeti Chaudhury noted two protest centers, including politically affiliated groups and student-led groups, as talks were scheduled to chart the way forward.
