The Kozhikode cyber police have registered a case as part of the continuing investigation into an alleged defamatory Facebook post against Kerala Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan. The case has been registered against a Facebook account operating under the name ‘Nithin Kakkedath.’ The petition was filed by a member of the Beypore Block Congress Committee.
According to the police, the case was registered based on the allegations that the social media post was intended to provoke unrest and create disharmony
among the public. They said the suspect, who was identified with the support of the hi-tech cell, would be quizzed soon. The complaint, initially submitted
to the District Police Chief (Kozhikode city), was forwarded to the Assistant Commissioner of Police (Cyber) for immediate action.
