(Representative Image) Noida News: A si lane bridge over the Hindon River connecting Noida’s Sector 146 Metro station on the Aqua Line with Knowledge Park 3 in Greater Noida is finally nearing completion after years of delays. Once opened, the bridge is expected to significantly improve connectivity between Noida and Greater Noida by providing a direct link that bypasses some of the region’s busiest traffic bottlenecks. The 290-metre bridge, along with nearly one kilometre of approach roads, is now in its final stages and is expected to open next month, ahead of the Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show. Why Is The Bridge Important? For thousands of daily commuters, the bridge promises to be a major relief. At present, motorists travelling between residential sectors along the Noida Expressway and Greater Noida largely rely on the Noida Expressway, Pari Chowk, or the Surajpur-Kulesra Road, routes that frequently experience heavy congestion, especially during office hours. The new bridge will offer a direct connection from Sector 146 Metro station to LG Chowk, Gamma 1, Beta 1, Surajpur and Knowledge Park 3, reducing both travel distance and commuting time.
The project is also expected to improve access for residents of sectors along the Noida Expressway while enhancing last-mile connectivity to the Aqua Line Metro. How Much Time Will It Save? According to officials and commuters already using parts of the route, the bridge could reduce travel time by nearly half. According to a report in The Times of India, a resident of Sector 168 who teaches at Surajpur Inter College, said his daily commute has become significantly shorter. Earlier, he travelled through Noida Phase II, Surajpur and Kulesra, where traffic congestion often stretched his journey to 45 minutes or even an hour. Using the new bridge, the same trip now takes around 25 minutes. Another commuter from Surajpur, said travelling to Noida Sector 150 previously took 30 to 40 minutes via Pari Chowk. The new route has reduced the journey to about 15 minutes. If similar travel-time savings are realised after the bridge opens fully, thousands of office-goers, students and commercial vehicles could benefit daily. What’s The Progress So Far? The Noida Authority has completed around 810 metres of the approach road on its side, while the bridge structure itself is largely finished. Only finishing works such as Road markings Street lighting Landscaping Painting Shoulder strengthening Tiling remain before the bridge can be opened to the public. However, work is still pending on the Greater Noida side, where about 150 metres of the approach road remains incomplete. Officials also need to shift a high-tension electricity line before the project can become operational.
