Stating that Amaravati embodies the self-respect and aspirations of Andhra Pradesh, Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha on Wednesday (August 5, 2026) said the capital city was emerging as a symbol of the State’s future, and that large-scale infrastructure works were progressing rapidly under the leadership of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. Anitha made the remarks after inspecting the ongoing construction works in Amaravati along with Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister P.
Narayana and MSME Minister Kondapalli Srinivas. The ministers visited the Ministers’ Bungalows, Iconic Towers, and the MLA and MLC residential quarters, where Mr. Narayana briefed them on the progress of various projects. The Home Minister said nearly 4,000 houses would be handed over to the government by December, as informed by Mr. Narayana. She said Amaravati remained emotionally connected with farmers, government employees and workers, and asked people across the State to visit the capital to witness the pace of development.
Criticising the YSRCP, she alleged that its leaders were attempting to find faults in the project instead of acknowledging the ongoing works. Kondapalli Srinivas described Amaravati as a world-class capital being developed with long-term vision and meticulous planning. He said the MLA and MLC residential complexes had
been completed and several other major buildings were nearing completion. Both Ms. Anitha and Mr. Srinivas appreciated Mr. Narayana’s efforts in monitoring the construction works round the clock and expressed confidence that Amaravati would emerge as a capital city that every Andhra Pradesh citizen would be proud of.
