After months of delays, Telugu superstar Ram Charan's sports drama, Peddi, has finally hit theatres globally. With special shows on the night of June 3, and a worldwide release on June 4, the film opened with a bang. Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, and also starring Janhvi Kapoor, Shiva Rajkumar, Boman Irani, Jagapathi Babu and Divyenndu, Peddi is a rural action drama that follows the life of an athlete who fights for his identity.
According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film collected Rs 9.82 crore in the initial days of advance booking without block bookings. With block bookings, the figure stood at Rs 16.66 crore by Wednesday afternoon. Worldwide, the film has collected Rs 35 crore gross in advance sales.
Early trade estimates have suggested that the film could gross Rs 100 crore globally on its opening day, helped by strong business in Andhra Pradesh
