Top Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) commander Masood Ilyas Kashmiri, who revealed the damage caused by India’s Operation Sindoor in Pakistan, was apparently spotted at the Rawalkot Peace Talks, alleged sources. Sources allege Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) sent a ‘Peace Committee’ to quell the Rawalakot protests against the administration over atrocities. Questions are being raised over whether the Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) Peace Jirga or Committee members are peace representatives or JeM terrorists.
Kashmiri allegedly met members of the Awami Action Committee (JAAC), who are protesting in PoK. The camera-shy JeM leader kept out of sight, said sources. News18 has not independently verified the authenticity of the clip. Lashkar-e-Taiba had branded JAAC protest leaders as “traitors" and had launched an aggressive smear campaign to sabotage the PoK protests. Militant proxies are targeting the Awami Action Committee in Rawalakot. Sources further allege that the ISI has deployed JeM and LeT operatives against the Rawalakot Awami Action Committee’s civil movement in PoK. MASOOD ILYAS KASHMIRI & OP SINDOOR Masood Ilyas Kashmiri (also known as Mufti Masood Ilyas) is a high-ranking commander of the Pakistan-based terrorist group Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM). He is currently one of India’s most wanted terrorists operating from Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
Kashmiri is a top-tier commander within Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), wielded as one of the outfit’s primary public voices, operational leaders, and chief recruiters. While absolute authority remains with the supreme leader (Emir) Maulana Masood Azhar, Kashmiri’s structural power is immense. Kashmiri is linked to Operation Sindoor because he publicly verified and detailed the massive damage inflicted by Indian precision strikes. In a widely circulated video statement, Kashmiri admitted that Indian missile strikes on May 7 at the Markaz Subhan Allah headquarters in Bahawalpur “tore apart" and decimated the family of JeM chief Maulana Masood Azhar. His confirmation served as a major validation of India’s military intelligence and execution of Operation Sindoor, countering initial official denials regarding the destruction of the core JeM nerve center. Kashmiri further alleged that Pakistan Army Chief General Asim Munir ordered top military generals and commandos to attend the funerals of the operatives and family members killed during the strikes.
