The Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC), in association with Indian Bank and Niva Bupa Health Insurance, facilitated the settlement of a ₹20-lakh insurance claim under the Sehat Suraksha Policy in Hyderabad on Tuesday. According to the CMC, the settlement is the first ₹20-lakh claim in the country under the Sehat Suraksha Policy.
The claim was settled in favour of Babburi Madhavi, wife of Babburi Raju, a street vendor and self-help group (SHG) member who died in a road accident. Raju was covered under the Sehat Suraksha Policy through an SHG loan extended by Indian Bank’s Microstate Branch in Hyderabad, the civic body said.
The cheque was handed over to Madhavi in the presence of CMC additional commissioner (UCD) V.V.L. Subhadra Devi and officials from the civic body, Indian
Bank and Niva Bupa Health Insurance. SHG members were also present on the occasion.
