Vijay inaugurates various completed projects across Tamil Nadu

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay on Tuesday inaugurated various completed projects of the Health and Family Welfare, Housing and Urban Development, Municipal Administration and Water Supply (MAWS), and Higher Education Departments across the State through video conferencing from the Secretariat in Chennai. According to an official release, he inaugurated four completed projects of the MAWS Department, executed at a cost of ₹112.85 crore, and laid the foundation stone for four new projects at an estimated cost of ₹710.50 crore.
As part of the projects in the Housing and Urban Development Department, Mr. Vijay inaugurated 4,260 tenements constructed by the Tamil Nadu Urban Habitat Development Board in various districts at a cost of ₹525.75 crore. He also opened an air-conditioned bus shelter constructed by the Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority (CMDA) near the Dr. Ambedkar Government Arts College in Perambur at a cost of ₹1.43 crore. In the Health and Family Welfare Department, the Chief Minister inaugurated additional buildings constructed at a cost of ₹113 crore at the Aranthangi Government District Headquarters Hospital and the government hospitals in Pallipattu, Podaturpet, Attur, Marakkanam, and Valavanur.
He also inaugurated a radiotherapy centre at the Kanniyakumari Government Medical College Hospital, four primary health centres, and 12 health sub-centres. In respect of the Higher Education Department, Mr. Vijay inaugurated academic infrastructure worth ₹274.46 crore in government polytechnic colleges, government arts and science colleges, government engineering colleges, and in the Thiruvalluvar University. The facilities include classroom buildings, laboratory blocks, workshop buildings, skill development centre workshops, libraries, e-libraries, and buildings for artificial intelligence and data science programmes.
Ministers, senior government officials were present during the inauguration.
