Karnataka Chief Minister DK Shivakumar has issued a stern message to disgruntled MLAs who are unhappy over the state cabinet expansion, stating that anyone wishing to resign can do so and it will be accepted immediately. DKS emphasized that pressure tactics will not work, stating that resignations are a normal part of politics and that the party is far more important than individual demands.
The statement comes amid internal discontent, chaos, and confusion within the Congress fold regarding portfolio allocations and cabinet berths following the recent expansion. Reporter Nagarjun Dwarkanath noted that DKS highlighted his own patience in waiting to join the cabinet prior to becoming Chief Minister, reiterating that the party leadership will not negotiate under threats.
