(Screenshot) Fresh allegations have emerged from Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK), where local residents and protest groups have accused Pakistani security forces of targeting mosques, reinforcing internet blackouts and intensifying their crackdown in several districts. According to claims by local religious leaders and residents, Pakistani forces have occupied a mosque in Bhimber district, while an Imam in Mirpur was allegedly killed after resisting security personnel inside a city mosque.

The latest allegations come amid continuing unrest in PoK, where the Jammu Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee (JKJAAC) has accused Pakistani authorities of carrying out widespread security operations against protesters and civilians. A local imam from Bhimber alleged that Pakistani security forces had entered and occupied a mosque, escalating tensions in the area. Another religious leader claimed that an Imam in Mirpur city was killed inside a mosque after confronting security personnel. Residents also claimed that the internet blackout in the Mirpur division has been further tightened, leaving entire areas without communication. The restrictions, they said, have made it difficult for families to contact relatives, verify information or seek emergency assistance.

In messages circulated from the affected areas, one local resident described the situation as a “siege" and issued an appeal to Muslim-majority countries to take note of the developments. A local mosque Imam also claimed that people were living under constant fear and uncertainty amid the ongoing operations. The allegations add to a growing list of claims by the JKJAAC and residents, who have accused Pakistani authorities of restricting movement, cutting communications and using excessive force during the ongoing unrest in PoK.
