The president of Fifa, Gianni Infantino, is under increasing pressure over his now-cancelled plan to sell stakes in the World Cup and other tournaments. The European football confederation UEFA has said it has no confidence in him, and is threatening legal action. The football associations of Wales, Finland, Sweden and Serbia have withdrawn their support for his re-election as president, and England's football association is set to follow suit.
