Rapid Read Bankipur Election Result: Amit Malviya attacks Prashant Kishor after he won Bankipur Election Result: Amit Malviya on Monday launched a scathing attack on Jan Suraaj founder Prashant Kishor, referring to him as “Bihar’s Kejriwal" and accusing him of changing his stance within hours of winning the Bankipur Assembly bypoll. He shared a “before and after" video that he claimed exposed a change in Kishor’s promises after his Bankipur bypoll victory.
Malviya posted two video clips on social media. In the first, recorded before the election, Kishor is heard saying, “May there come a day when Patna looks like Bengaluru". The second clip, recorded after Kishor established a decisive lead in the counting, shows him saying, “My becoming an MLA won’t turn Bankipur into Bengaluru, but you will see some improvements happening here over the next two to three months." Sharing the videos, Malviya wrote, “Bihar ke Kejriwal… As soon as they won the election, they turned turtle." The BJP leader’s remarks came hours after Kishor defeated BJP candidate Neeraj Kumar by 19,324 votes in the Bankipur Assembly bypoll, ending the BJP’s nearly three-decade hold over the constituency.
The victory marked Kishor’s maiden electoral win and handed the Jan Suraaj Party its first-ever seat in the Bihar Assembly. After his victory, Kishor said he did not want to make unrealistic promises. “My becoming an MLA won’t turn Bankipur into Bengaluru, but you will see some improvements happening here over the next two to three months. My first task will be to improve Bankipur with the blessings the people have given me. I don’t want to make grand boasts," he said.
