Shah’s remarks came as the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow concluded, with India celebrating both its medal-winning campaign and the country’s role as the next host of the 2030 Commonwealth Games in Ahmedabad.

The 2026 Commonwealth Games concluded in Glasgow after 11 days of competition, with India finishing fourth in the medal standings with 39 medals 13 gold, 17 silver and nine bronze. During the closing ceremony, the Commonwealth Games flag was formally handed over to India, marking the country’s official takeover as host of the 2030 Commonwealth Games in Ahmedabad.
