Initial findings indicate that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) may have indirectly backed the organisation, purportedly routing funds through student networks to conceal direct political links, allege sources. Sources claim the underlying strategy was to keep the Bharatiya Janata Party-led administration engaged in continuous political firefighting in Delhi over allegations of irregularities and corruption, making it more difficult for the party to focus on Punjab.
