According to officials familiar with the matter, the proposal is being viewed as a violation of military protocol and decorum. “It was not the right action at the right time and place," officials said, indicating that the issue is not the proposal itself but the use of a formal military event and installation for a personal occasion. The passing-out parade at CAATS marks the successful completion of rigorous aviation training and is regarded as a significant military ceremony.
