Bankipur Election Result: Prashant Kishor set to win polls Bankipur Election Results: Jan Suraaj founder Prashant Kishor is set to end the BJP’s nearly three-decade hold over the Bankipur Assembly constituency in his maiden electoral contest, according to the latest counting trends. Addressing supporters after the latest round of counting, Kishor said, “My becoming an MLA won’t turn Bankipur into Bengaluru, but you will see some improvements happening here over the next two to three months." Emphasising that he wanted to deliver results rather than make lofty promises, the newly elected MLA said his immediate priority would be to work for the development of Bankipur.
“My first task will be to improve Bankipur with the blessings the people have given me. You will see changes in the next two to three months. I don’t want to make grand boasts," he said. Prashant Kishor also launched a scathing attack at Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, saying his “character and reputation are already in the public domain". He, however, said his fight was not against any individual. “Our fight is not against any individual. The BJP has the majority, and the NDA has the majority. The Chief Minister will be from their alliance," Kishor said. He also urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to appoint “a capable and virtuous person" as Bihar’s chief minister, saying the state needed leadership focused on education, employment and development.
Appealing directly to the Prime Minister, he added, “We are only making one request. The people of Bihar, and especially the people of Bankipur, are requesting Prime Minister Modi to appoint a capable and virtuous person as the Chief Minister of Bihar so that the people of Bihar can also feel proud of being Bihari and our children can have access to quality education and employment."
