Andhra Pradesh Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister P. Narayana on Monday (August 3, 2026) asked officials and contractors to ensure that Amaravati’s construction works are completed according to the government’s scheduled targets. Reviewing the progress of major infrastructure projects at the Secretariat’s Block-II Conference Hall, the Minister said both engineering officials and contracting agencies shared equal responsibility for delivering the projects on time.

The review meeting was attended by Amaravati Growth and Infrastructure Corporation Limited (AGICL) Managing Director Abhishek Kumar, CRDA Engineer-in-Chief Gopalakrishna Reddy, AGICL chief engineers and representatives of contracting firms. The Minister held detailed discussions on the progress of the iconic buildings under construction in the capital city. Narayana sought updates on the pace of works at the Assembly, the High Court, the General Administration Department (GAD) Tower and four Heads of Departments (HoD) Towers, all being developed as landmark structures of Amaravati.

Engineers told the Minister that construction was continuing without interruption despite the monsoon, and that adequate measures had been taken to avoid delays. The Minister asked officials to monitor every stage of construction and ensure that all works progress according to the approved plan. The review comes as the State government works towards Chief Minister N.

Chandrababu Naidu’s target of completing the first phase of Amaravati’s construction by August 2028.
