The wrestlers’ protest became one of the biggest athlete-led movements in recent years, attracting international attention and putting the BJP under sustained political pressure. While the legal chapter may have ended, the political memory of the controversy remains. Political analysts believe the party is likely to adopt the same calibrated approach it followed during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections — leveraging Brij Bhushan’s influence on the ground while carefully deciding the extent of his public visibility.
