In an exclusive interview with India Today’s Bhavna Agarwal, actor Lola Petticrew discussed playing Catherine, a calculating serial killer, in the thriller series Furious (available on Jio Hotstar) alongside Emmy Rossum. Petticrew highlighted the excitement of leading a story driven by two female protagonists, noting that stepping outside classic male perspectives allows actors to flip traditional narrative expectations. Discussing the complex psychological dynamic with Rossum's character Alice, Petticrew explained that they deliberately kept off-screen preparation separate to preserve genuine surprise during shared scenes.
Reflecting on the emotional demands of the role, Petticrew emphasized avoiding personal judgment: "It's not up to me or is it interesting for me to make moral judgments. I think that the judge and the jury is always the audience." Petticrew shared how every role fundamentally reshapes them on a personal level while maintaining a protective boundary around that private growth. Additionally, Petticrew fondly recalled growing up with detective stories, humorously praising live-action Scooby-Doo as one of cinema's greatest achievements.
