In a strongly worded statement shared on social media on Friendship Day, the actor claimed that the four of them will never be in the same room till he is alive. This note is seemingly a response to recent remarks made by his mother-in-law Sujatha Vijayakumar about his family amid the divorce proceedings with Aarti. Read Full Story Sharing a note on Instagram, Ravi wrote, "Happy Friendship Day my dearest people. Thank you for standing by me like true friends. It is unfortunate that some people continue to act in ways that amount to contempt of court. As for me, I want to make one thing clear: the four of us will not ever be in the same room together as long as I am alive. Stay happy always and choose your friends wisely (sic)." Ravi's remarks come days after Aarti Ravi's mother, Sujatha Vijayakumar, publicly addressed the actor's claims surrounding their ongoing divorce proceedings about them demanding Rs 40 lakh per month as interim maintenance.
She also denied Ravi's allegation that he had been prevented from meeting his sons. Addressing him directly, she said, "The court has already permitted you to meet your children. At least now you should meet them." She maintained that neither Aarti nor her family had ever stopped Ravi from seeing the children. Rejecting the claims of Aarti demanding Rs 40 lakh as monthly maintenance, she said that the amount had been taken out of context. "The Rs 40 lakh was never a personal maintenance demand. It included the children's school fees, tuition and extracurricular expenses. The media has highlighted just one figure without explaining what it actually covered," said Sujatha. Ravi's reference to "contempt of court" in his Instagram note after Sujatha's press conference is linked to the ongoing divorce proceedings between him and Aarti. While he did not name anyone in his post, the timing of his statement suggests it was a response to the public comments made about the case, which he implied were inappropriate while the matter remains before the court.
The latest post comes a day after Ravi shared a video of himself dancing joyfully, accompanied by a heartfelt note about his family's reaction to a glimpse of his upcoming directorial debut, An Ordinary Man. Thanking his father and other family members for their encouragement, he wrote, "How my fam cheered for me, especially appa.. is what I pray every child in this world receives from their parents. Grateful that God is winning (sic)." Ravi and Aarti have been embroiled in a highly publicised marital dispute for almost two years, with both sides making statements through social media and the press as their divorce case continues. Ravi's latest remarks leave little room for reconciliation. Meanwhile, Ravi also made headlines after reports of him having an affair with singer and spiritual healer Keneshaa went viral. A few weeks ago, Keneshaa, shared an emotional statement about leaving Ravi and Chennai went viral. Days after she left, the actor called for a press meet, where he announced that he would not be taking up new projects till his divorce is finalised and talked about his plans to quit cinema.
