Woman killed, many injured as KSRTC bus skids off Nelliyampathy ghat road in Kerala’s Palakkad
A woman was killed and several others injured when a KSRTC bus veered off the Nelliyampathy ghat road and fell into a depth in Palakkad
A woman was killed and several others injured when a KSRTC bus veered off the Nelliyampathy ghat road and fell into a depth in Palakkad district, Kerala, on Monday morning. The accident occurred around 9.30 a.m. when the bus travelling from Nelliyampathy to Nenmara skidded at a curve near Pothundy Dam and fell into a teak plantation below.
The driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle on the rain-soaked road. The deceased was identified as Jayanti, 55, wife of Swami. She was a resident of Pulayanpara. Her body was shifted to the Government District Hospital at Palakkad.
Around 80 passengers were reportedly on board. Fire and Rescue Services personnel, the police and local residents conducted the rescue operation. The injured were shifted
to hospitals at Nenmara and Palakkad. Some of them are in a serious condition.
