Rajasthan’s Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) has seized drugs worth more than Rs 700 crore over the past 10 months, marking what officials described as a record crackdown on narcotics trafficking in the state. ANTF Inspector General Vikas Kumar said Rajasthan Police had seized narcotics worth around Rs 850 crore under the NDPS Act last year, while the total this year is expected to cross Rs 1,000 crore.

Read Full Story The operation targeted major opium trafficking routes linked to Manipur, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand. More than 360 kg of opium has been recovered so far. The ANTF also uncovered and dismantled 34 units allegedly manufacturing MD drugs across Rajasthan, seizing more than 185 kg of the synthetic narcotic.
Officials said action was also taken against the illegal cultivation of opium and cannabis. Working with agencies in five states and five central bodies, the task force arrested 84 alleged major drug traffickers. Several of them were wanted criminals who had been on the run for years, police said. Officials claimed that sustained action across different supply routes had disrupted several trafficking networks and weakened the narcotics supply chain in the state.
Kumar appealed to the public to share information about drug trafficking and related crimes with the ANTF control room or through its WhatsApp helpline, assuring that the identities of informants would remain confidential. Ends (Inputs from Kesha Ram)
