We wanted to tell Pappu Yadav ji, ‘If you continue to insult our Lord Ram and make such objectionable remarks, then please stop this propaganda. Why are you doing this?’ We had only gone to speak to him.
We had not gone to attack him or do anything else," the man said. Explaining why they confronted the MP, he said, “We told Pappu Yadav ji, ‘You insult our Lord Ram. You show him falling at someone’s feet. You disrespect our saints and spiritual leaders. We will not tolerate this insult. The youth will not tolerate this disrespect, and we will do whatever is necessary, but we will not accept it.'" He added that only two people had gone to meet the MP. “There were two of us. The other person is my friend, Sumit Giri Goswami, from Sehpani village." Rejects Knife Allegation The man also denied claims that they were carrying a knife, saying they had undergone security checks before entering the premises. “We were checked outside before entering, so there was no way we could have taken a knife inside. Everything happened in front of journalists and was being broadcast live.
There was no knife or anything like that. They are only trying to frame us," he said. Referring to the scuffle, he alleged, “After he was hit, you can see in the video that Pappu Yadav had him surrounded in the lane and was holding him. Somewhere, there was an attempt to assault us." Scuffle During Press Conference The incident took place on Sunday while Pappu Yadav was addressing a press conference at his Delhi residence. According to those present, an argument broke out after the two men accused the MP of insulting Sanatan Dharma. Yadav’s supporters alleged that one of the men attempted to throw a slipper at the MP, triggering a scuffle. Delhi Police intervened and detained both men. After the incident, Yadav alleged that there had been an attempt on his life and claimed the two men were carrying a knife. The detained men have denied the allegation, while Delhi Police has not officially confirmed the recovery of any knife.
